![]() ![]() Is there someone here you already did the same thing and can share his experiences, please ?.Is it possible to install reliably a SATA HDD via an SATA-to-PATA adapter or not (your experiences) or should I rather buy a refurbished (slow and expensive) P-ATA HDD ?.I found 2 postings of people replacing the old P-ATA HDD by SATA HDDs with an adapter, one claiming success, another failure. If it fails soon what are good HDD models for replacement (P-ATA HDD or SATA HDD+adapter, HDD or SSD) ?. ![]() Must I expect the HDD to fail soon or are these just the normal symptoms of its aging process ?.Lately the HDD has become louder and started making strange noise (periodic clicking sounds similar to the sound when the heads get parked, but louder). I got a Mac mini G4 (Late 2005) fully maxed out to 1 GB RAM and a 160 GB HDD.
